Cogent believes in addressing the social determinants of adult mental health issues in childhood.
Isolation, poverty and adverse childhood experiences can underly and aggravate mental health concerns across the lifespan.
In an effort to support proactive programming to minimize these adverse experiences, Cogent actively supports community sports, education, employment and peer-support services in Ontario.
The prevalence of alcohol use disorder is twice as high in men with another mental health diagnosis than in the general population.
